💙 Chefchaouen, often simply called 'Chaouen', is one of Morocco's most enchanting destinations. Perched in the Rif Mountains at 600 meters altitude, this small town is famous worldwide for its buildings painted in every imaginable shade of blue — from powder blue to deep indigo.

🎨 Why Is It Blue?
Several theories exist: some say Jewish refugees who settled here in the 1930s painted the buildings blue to symbolize the sky and heaven. Others believe it was to repel mosquitoes or keep homes cool. Whatever the reason, the tradition continues today.
🚗 Getting There
Chefchaouen has no airport, so the best way to get there is by car. Rent from OLIVIANA CAR and enjoy the scenic 4-hour drive from Fes or 3 hours from Tangier through beautiful mountain roads.
